Dr. Chase Ratliff

Dr. Chase Ratliff

DVM & Hospital Director

After graduating from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine with honors in 2009, Dr. Chase Ratliff began his veterinary career in a mixed animal practice and equine referral facility in Northern California. He spent three years there honing his animal husbandry skills that began on the farm where he was raised in Colorado City, Texas. He received advanced training in Equine Dentistry, in addition to managing general and specialty cases of just about every animal that walked through the doors. In 2013 he returned to West Texas and began working at a mixed animal practice in Winters. In 2015, the opportunity to purchase Chimney Rock Animal Hospital from Dr. Allen Williams arose, and Dr. Ratliff decided this would be the best step to advance his career in caring for and curing animals. In order to provide the highest level of care, Dr. Ratliff has undertaken additional education in animal acupuncture along with chiropractry and is an American Veterinary Chiropractic Association certified veterinarian. Dr. Ratliff’s professional interests include small animal and equine musculoskeletal and orthopedic dysfunction, pain management and rehabilitation, and beef cattle production. In his limited spare time, Dr. Ratliff enjoys reading, helping his daughters raise their show heifers, participating in rodeo events, and team roping.

Veterinary Technician

Trina McGowan has been a veterinary technician with us since May of 2021. She has worked as a veterinary assistant since 2002. Trina grew up in New England, just north of Boston, Massachusetts. Throughout her adult life, she has lived in many larger cities, including Pittsburgh, PA., Cleveland, OH., Detroit, MI, and Fairbanks, AK. Some of her favorite things to do are camping, fishing, swimming, reading, watching movies, cooking, baking, target shooting, and spending time with her husband and 2 dogs. She loves her job working with animals, but if she were to go back to school, it would be to pursue a degree in microbiology. One fun fact about Trina; her first job was selling ice cream to Eskimos.
