Pet Surgery in Abilene, TX

Because safety is always our main priority, we do a thorough inspection and pre-anesthesia testing before each surgery. We will keep a close eye on your pet during the procedure to ensure their safety. After that, you’ll be given detailed aftercare instructions, and we’ll gladly address any questions or concerns you may have.

General/ Routine Surgeries

Utilizing state-of-the-art patient monitoring, we routinely perform procedures under general anesthesia that has been shown to extend and improve your pet’s life. Your pet’s comfort during the procedure and through the recovery process is very important to us. This is why we use the latest anesthetic protocols and pain management techniques, allowing almost all of our surgical patients to return to the comfort of their homes and families on the same day.

Our pets are at risk of developing many of the same conditions we are, many of which require surgical intervention. Surgeries of the skin, soft tissue, gastrointestinal tract, and other abdominal organs are performed here regularly. We know how hard it is to leave your best friend in the hospital, so we work hard to return your pet to your care as soon as possible.

Orthopedic Surgery

Problems with your pet’s bones and joints can be due to traumatic injury, malformations at birth, old age, or obesity. Our mobile digital x-ray unit of the highest quality helps us devise the most appropriate treatment plan for any orthopedic condition. We are able to surgically correct and manage many of these problems in the clinic, or if needed, we will refer and work with excellent orthopedic specialists.

General Equine Surgery & Wound Care

There are unique challenges and considerations to take into account when managing a wound and performing surgical procedures on a horse. Many wounds can be effectively treated by cleaning and bandaging/dressing the area at home. However, some require suturing, minor surgery, and regional antibiotic administration in order to facilitate the healing process. We are equipped to provide first-line treatment to any type of wound that your horse may be unfortunate enough to receive. We also provide long-term care for wounds, including skin grafting, and work hard to educate owners on proper wound care for the specific wound they may be managing.
